Position Title: Commissioning Field Technician III

Position Location: Hybrid - United States. Must be located near a major airport.

Travel Requirements: Up to 75% domestic travel; relocation may be considered for long-term project needs. Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to rent vehicles.

JOB SUMMARY

The Commissioning Field Technician III is a technical commissioning role responsible for executing tests, troubleshooting equipment, and supporting commissioning plans. This position builds upon the foundation developed in our Commissioning Field Technician I and II positions, requiring an increased level of independent work and technical problem-solving.

The Commissioning Field Technician III will receive general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments. May work independently, consistently exercising discretion and independent judgment on individual work, or may work under immediate supervision. May serve as lead on routine projects of limited scope.

This person will communicate and operate in line with organizational goals and values, as well as departmental objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Perform On-site Inspection, Validation, Testing and Verification of Electrical and Mechanical Equipment (50%)

Participate in factory witness testingObserve startup activitiesUse technical equipment to perform testingPerform functional testing of equipment and electrical, mechanical and controls systemsTroubleshoot system components

Develop Testing Plans and Procedures (20%)

Assist in the development of commissioning plansPrepare pre-functional checklistsPrepare functional performance test scripts

Review Construction Related Design Documents, Drawings and Specifications (15%)

Review shop drawings and submittalsReview sequence of operationsAssist in commissioning focused design reviews

Reporting (10%)

Prepare project progress reports for internal and external stakeholdersAssist in preparation and contributes to final commissioning reportManage personal hours using company tools

TRAVEL / RELOCATION REQUIREMENTS

Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to rent vehicles.Up to 75%, this may include travel to any or all 50 US states. Must be located near a major airport. CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Must be able to obtain NFPA 70E / OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certifications as required.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction or related discipline.

OR

A minimum of two years’ experience with installation, hands-on testing, validation and troubleshooting of mechanical, controls and / or electrical infrastructure.

PLUS

Minimum three years’ additional experience with installation, hands-on testing, validation and troubleshooting of mechanical, controls and / or electrical infrastructure.
