About the Role:

The School Age Lead Teacher plays a pivotal role in fostering a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children aged 5 to 12 years. This position is responsible for designing and implementing developmentally appropriate educational activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth. The Lead Teacher will be in Collaboration with families and colleagues is essential to support each child's individual needs and to create a cohesive learning community. Ultimately, the role aims to inspire a lifelong love of learning while supporting the holistic development of school-age children.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field preferred.
• Experience working with school-age children in an educational or childcare setting.
• Certification in CPR and First Aid.
• Ability to pass background checks and meet state licensing requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a lead teacher or in a supervisory role within a school-age program.
• Training or certification in behavior management or special education.
• Strong classroom managemement skills with the ability to maintain a safe, structured, and engaing enviroment.
• Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to work as a team and also independently.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that encourage creativity, critical thinking, and social skills.
• Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and volunteers to maintain a high standard of care and education.
• Monitor and assess each child's progress, adapting teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs.
• Maintain open and effective communication with parents and guardians regarding their child's development and daily experiences.
• Ensure compliance with all licensing requirements, health and safety regulations, and organizational policies.
