Job Summary
BEI Precision is seeking an Electrical Engineer to help design and develop the next generation of precision electromechanical products used in demanding aerospace, defense, and emerging technology applications.
This position offers the opportunity to work on challenging real-world engineering problems involving motion control systems, sensors, feedback devices, electronics, and electromechanical assemblies. You will participate in the complete product development lifecycle—from concept and design through prototyping, testing, validation, and production release.
We are looking for engineers who enjoy building things, solving technical challenges, and working closely with multidisciplinary teams. Whether your experience comes from industry, military service, research, internships, university design projects, robotics competitions, maker activities, or personal engineering projects, we are interested in candidates who demonstrate strong technical aptitude, curiosity, initiative, and a desire to grow.
This position is primarily on-site at our Maumelle, Arkansas facility to support hands-on development, laboratory testing, collaboration, and rapid product iteration.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Design and develop analog and digital electronic circuits for new products and product enhancements.
- Participate in the development of electromechanical systems including rotary motion devices, sensors, and control systems.
- Design, analyze, and troubleshoot motor control and feedback systems.
- Develop schematics, electrical architectures, test plans, and engineering documentation.
- PCB design, component selection, prototype development, and product testing.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers, software engineers, manufacturing personnel, quality engineers, and customers to develop innovative solutions.
- Build, test, and evaluate prototypes in laboratory and production environments.
- Analyze performance data and recommend design improvements.
- Participate in design reviews, root cause investigations, and problem-solving activities.
- Support transition of products from development into manufacturing.
- Contribute to project planning, technical risk assessment, and product development activities.
- Continuously improve engineering processes, tools, and product performance.
Required Skills and Abilities
Knowledge Of:
- Electrical engineering fundamentals.
- Analog and digital circuit design principles.
- Electronics testing and troubleshooting techniques.
- Electromechanical systems and motion control concepts.
- Engineering problem-solving methodologies.
- Technical documentation and engineering change processes.
Ability To:
- Design and troubleshoot electrical systems.
- Learn new technologies and apply them to practical engineering challenges.
- Work effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Communicate technical information clearly and professionally.
- Balance multiple priorities and execute projects effectively.
- Take ownership of assignments and deliver results.
- Contribute to a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Preferred Skills
Candidates are not expected to possess all of the following qualifications. Experience in any combination of these areas is beneficial:
- Analog circuit design.

- Technical project leadership.
Education and Experience
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline required.
- Advanced degree is a plus but not required.
Experience
We value demonstrated engineering capability more than a specific number of years of experience.
Qualified candidates may have developed relevant skills through:
