Position Summary:
The Department of Teacher Education invites applicants for a Full-Time Instructor responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in the field of education, focusing on STEM content pedagogical methods. This position requires that the candidate selected meet program expectations, develop effective instructional practices, and demonstrate professional dispositions aligned with state and institutional standards.
The successful candidate for this position will (1) plan and implement curriculum for assigned course(s); (2) effectively communicate class content to pre-service teachers in an online or face to face environment; (3)evaluate students' progress in attaining goals, objectives, and student learning outcomes; and (4) assist in admissions, recruitment, and retention efforts.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of public schools, ability to interact with public school personnel, higher education personnel, and teacher education students, and problem-solving skills.
General Days/Hours:
Monday - Friday
8:00 AM -5:00 PM
There may be some evening/weekend work required
Other:
Preferred Qualifications:
• Classroom teaching experience (a minimum of three years) in P-12 public schools in Elementary or Middle Level grades
• Teaching experience in higher education
• Teaching experience in online teaching
Minimum Qualifications:
An earned Master's degree in Elementary/Middle Level Education or in a related field of education; doctorate degree in education is preferred.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development/implementation of the teacher education program across all campuses.
- Teach assigned online and on-campus courses in accordance with approved curriculum and departmental guidelines.
- Use a variety of proven methods of engagement and assessment that facilitate student mastery of the content.
- Prepare and deliver engaging lectures, class discussions, assignments, and learning activities.
- Develop course materials, assignments, and follow course syllabi to ensure alignment with program standards.
- Assess student performance and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Supervise teacher candidates during their clinical placements in partner schools.
- Support mentor teachers and serve as a liaison between the university and school sites.
- Evaluate candidate performance using program rubrics and assessment tools.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of student attendance, grades, and academic progress.
- Utilize appropriate instructional technology, including learning management systems (LMS) such as [Canvas/SL&L].
- Comply with institutional policies, procedures, and academic standards.
- Participate in required meetings, trainings, and professional development activities as assigned.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and stakeholders from across the campus and the community in order to create, preserve and enhance important partnerships.
- Other duties as assigned
