The Database and Applications Administrator is a key member of Landmark College’s Information Technology team, responsible for supporting the reliability, performance, and ongoing development of the College’s enterprise applications and databases. This position provides expertise in business systems support, database administration, software maintenance and upgrades, reporting, data integrations, and vendor coordination to ensure students, faculty, and staff have dependable access to the systems and information they need.

This role will also play an important part in Landmark College’s transition from Ellucian PowerCampus, PowerFAIDS, and Dynamics GP to Jenzabar J1 and Jenzabar Financial Aid.

Working collaboratively with IT colleagues and campus partners, the Database and Applications Administrator will help design and improve integrated systems, streamline processes, safeguard data integrity, and support technology solutions that meet the College’s evolving needs.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Administer and support the College’s enterprise applications and databases, including student information, financial aid, financial, and other business systems, to ensure reliable access and performance for students, faculty, and staff.
• Contribute to the implementation and transition from Ellucian PowerCampus, PowerFAIDS, and Dynamics GP to Jenzabar J1 and Jenzabar Financial Aid, including system design, data integration, process improvement, testing, and implementation support.
• Administer, develop, maintain, and optimize SQL Server databases and related programming, including database analysis, troubleshooting, backups, restores, maintenance, migrations, and performance support to ensure the reliability and integrity of the College’s enterprise data systems.
• Design, develop, and support data integrations between on-premises and cloud-hosted systems to promote accurate, efficient, and reliable exchange of institutional data.
• Develop and maintain institutional and government reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and other reporting tools to support operational, compliance, and decision-making needs.
• Coordinate and support enterprise application maintenance, upgrades, troubleshooting, and vendor relationships to ensure systems remain current, secure, and effective.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in business systems analysis in lieu of education, application design and development, database administration or related field.

Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of advanced SQL Server programming, database analysis, and database administration experience, including backups, restores, maintenance, migrations, troubleshooting, and ongoing database support.
• Hands-on experience implementing and supporting Jenzabar student information systems, including J1/JFA and/or related Jenzabar platforms such as EX/JICS.
• Experience supporting Student Information Systems (SIS) in a higher education environment.
• Extensive experience developing and supporting data integrations across on-premises and cloud-hosted systems.
• Experience developing institutional and government reporting using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and other reporting tools.
• Experience documenting systems, procedures, and technical solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 8-10+ years of directly related SQL Server/database experience.
• Experience participating in or leading a Jenzabar implementation, migration, or major system transition.
• Experience supporting multiple enterprise applications within a higher education environment.
• Experience architecting solutions, mentoring others, and leading technical projects.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools, particularly Excel, Access, SharePoint, and Teams.
