About This Position
Job Summary:
- The Performanc eAnalyst performs under the direct supervision of the Patient Care Manager and the Director of Surgical Services and is accountable for providing leadership in planning, implementing, evaluating, and integrating performance measurement and improvement activities.
- Facilitates the improvement of patient care processes and outcomes using evidence-based approaches with the input and clinical experience of those who will be providing the care.
- Performs data abstraction and analysis for all required performance improvement measures with responsibility for leading improvements.
- Responsible for patient outcome information management functions, including design, analysis, and interpretation in the EMR.
- Collaborates with administrative and clinical leaders to resolve outcome issues.
Performance Expectations:
- Demonstrates the ability to analyze data management, process mapping, and interdepartmental coordination beyond direct clinical education in order to drill down on specific issues to formulate an action plan,
- Demonstrates the ability to analyze and synthesize performance data to identify trends and formulate data-driven action plans.
- Demonstrates the ability to teach different processes and educate on approved processes to the Surgical Services staff.
- Demonstrates the ability to teach and present performance outcomes to both clinical and non-clinical staff.
- EMR data, dashboards, and other analytics tools to track and communicate key performance metrics.
Qualifications:
Education/Skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Health Sciences, Healthcare Administration, Medical Laboratory Science, Public Health, or related healthcare field required.
Master’s Degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
Work Experience:
Minimum 2 years of experience in Surgical Services, healthcare data analysis, performance improvement, or related clinical or administrative role required.
Certification/Licensure-DUE UPON HIRE
- Applicable licensure or certification based on degree
- RN license (if applicable).
- Certification in Infection Control (CIC) (if applicable). ,
- Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) (if applicable).,
- Certified Surgical Services Manager (CSSM) preferred.
- PerformanceManagement certification (e.g., PMP, Lean Six Sigma) preferred.

Ability to perform tasks quickly, cooperate with others, take orders and follow directions precisely, demonstrate initiative, understands emotional stress of patients, families, and other staff during emergency or crisis situations.
