About This Position
Crusher Operator – Gold Bar Mine (Eureka, Nevada)
The Gold Bar Mine, located 35 miles northwest of Eureka, Nevada, is an open‑pit operation with a crushed heap‑leach process and onsite ADR plant and refinery.
The Crusher Operator, reporting to the Crusher Shift Supervisor, is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of crushing equipment and associated systems. This role includes conducting daily equipment walk‑arounds and work‑area inspections, identifying and correcting hazards, maintaining equipment, and keeping accurate production and maintenance records. The operator monitors all systems to ensure proper function, performs crushing and grinding activities including jaw and gyro crushing, and supports carbon‑in‑leach and carbon‑stripping processes. Duties also include cleaning excess material around the crusher using a skid‑steer or shovel, and operating a variety of equipment such as a backhoe, telehandler forklift, loader, dozer, and excavator‑mounted rock breaker. Strong communication skills are essential for effective radio use, problem solving, and coordination with team members. The operator is expected to remain alert, recognize hazardous conditions, work independently with minimal supervision, and contribute positively within a fast‑paced, growing environment. A proven safe work record, commitment to courageous leadership, and a valid driver’s license are required. One year of experience in a crushing operation or similar environment is preferred, along with experience in other phases of gold‑ore processing.
Working conditions include climbing ladders and stairs, walking on uneven ground, standing for extended periods, and performing repetitive lifting up to 50 pounds, as well as frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling. The role requires the use of PPE, including respirators for specific tasks, and involves exposure to noise, dust, and extreme weather conditions such as heat, cold, wind, and dust at elevations above six thousand feet.
