Job Description
Digital Experience & Identity ManagerAugustana University invites applications for the position of Digital Experience & Identity Manager. This full-time position plays a central role in shaping and advancing the university’s digital ecosystem by leading identity and access management (IAM) and the full user lifecycle experience for faculty, staff, and students.This role serves as both a strategist and architect of the university’s digital user experience, ensuring that onboarding, role transitions, and offboarding processes are seamless, secure, and aligned across institutional systems. Working in close partnership with Human Resources, Academic Affairs, and Admissions, the Digital Experience & Identity Manager ensures that access to systems, data, and technology resources is timely, appropriate, and user-centered.This is a 12-month, full-time position with a standard schedule of 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., with occasional evening, weekend, and on-call responsibilities.The duties, competencies, and responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:Identity & Access ManagementLead end-to-end user lifecycle management including onboarding, role changes, and offboardingManage identity and access systems, including user accounts, roles, and permissionsImplement and maintain role-based access controls and security group designMonitor and audit access to ensure compliance and adherence to security best practicesDigital Experience & User LifecycleDesign and continuously improve user lifecycle processes across institutional systemsAlign identity, device lifecycle, and service delivery into a cohesive user experiencePartner with campus stakeholders to streamline workflows and improve service deliverySupport onboarding experiences that integrate systems, communication, and trainingTechnology & Device LifecycleCoordinate technology provisioning for new hires and role transitionsOversee lifecycle management and replacement of end-user devicesEnsure proper recovery of institutional technology during offboardingAI, Automation & InnovationIdentify and implement AI-driven tools to improve IT service deliveryEvaluate and deploy automation solutions across lifecycle and support processesCollaborate on enterprise integrations across systems such as ERP, LMS, IAM, and CRMUser Enablement & CommunicationDevelop and deliver training, documentation, and communication to support usersPartner with campus groups to promote digital literacy and technology adoptionTranslate technical concepts into clear, accessible information for non-technical audiencesRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)Experience in identity and access management, systems administration, or a related IT fieldDemonstrated experience managing enterprise user accounts and accessPreferred QualificationsExperience with lifecycle automation tools and workflow designFamiliarity with cybersecurity frameworks and compliance practicesExperience supporting digital transformation initiatives, preferably in higher educationExperience with enterprise systems such as Active Directory, Entra ID (Azure AD), or Google WorkspaceInteracting with students, faculty and leadership from diverse backgrounds and perspectives, along with a deep appreciation and respect for academic principles and culture, must be a top value of the candidate.Application ProcedureReview of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
