Reports to the Director of Safety & Security Services

The Safety & Security Officer is responsible for providing a high level of customer service through proactive patrolling, response to emergency request, and maintaining a safe environment for all patients, visitors, staff and physicians. Officers will assist the department director with implementation of the organization-wide security management program in compliance with federal, state, local and accrediting agencies. Applicants must be highly motivated self-directed individuals with a desire to exceed expectations. High school diploma is required, associates or bachelors degree preferred along with law enforcement or military experience. Officers will complete the IAHSS Basic Security Officer Certification course within the first three months of employment; Pepper Foam Training, ASP Tactical Baton Training, Taser Training, and Non-violent Crisis Intervention Training.
