About the Role
The Junior Title Examiner/Support assists the title insurance process from order intake through policy delivery, including opening new title orders, conducting courthouse research, reviewing final documents, and preparing files for examiner review. The position also serves as a key point of contact for customers, providing quotes and answering inquiries, while coordinating with lenders, agents, and county offices to ensure accurate and timely file completion. Additional responsibilities include document management, deadline tracking, and general administrative support.
What You'll Do
Order Setup & Production Support
- Open new title orders and enter customer, property, and legal description details into the production system
- Review finals for the SD office
- Print off policies and jackets to be delivered
- Close files that have all the curatives completed
- Assist in preparing, organizing, and appropriately formatting orders to ensure the remainder of the team can efficiently complete the file review process
- Review file checklist to ensure all required items are present for examiner review
- Assist with corrections, updates, and administrative tasks as directed by the Title Manager or Examiner
- Assist with other tasks/projects as needed
Title Research & Documentation
- Responsible for courthouse research and retrieving records from public sources
- Organize and track incoming title search results and supporting documentation
- Review SD network recordings for accuracy, identify any discrepancies, and prepare and submit the required documentation to the appropriate county office
- Scan, label, and file electronic and paper documents accurately
- Maintain deadlines and task tracking within the title software systems
Customer Service & Policy Delivery
- Assist customers by taking orders over the phone, providing title insurance quotes, and responding to customer inquiries
- Deliver owner and lender policies through mail and/or email
Communication & Collaboration
- Communicate with internal departments, lenders, real estate agents, and county offices to request or follow up on documentation
- Respond to requests for additional documentation and support the team's workflow needs
- Collaborate with the Title Manager and Examiner to resolve outstanding file items
Quality & Compliance
- Maintain high standards of accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and industry best practices
- Contribute to a team environment focused on quality, service, and operational excellence
What You Bring
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Strong attention to detail and high accuracy in data entry
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Clear written and verbal communication
- Background check required
- Reliable transportation if mobile closings are required
Additional preferred qualifications:
- An associate or bachelor's degree in a related field
- Previous experience in an administrative, real estate, or legal support role
- Experience in title or escrow support
- Experience with title production systems (e.g., SoftPro, ResWare)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Work Environment & Schedule
- Full-time position
- Monday-Friday schedule
- Primarily office-based work with frequent computer use
- Occasional travel to county offices or courthouses as needed
- Frequent use of computer, phone, and standard office equipment
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
- Reliable transportation may be required for courthouse visits
