Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Operations and working under limited supervision, the Plating Engineer is responsible for all TWM engineering/process related activities, TWM new product development related activities, overall TWM product quality and reliability, and takes the lead for all TWM continuous improvement and risk mitigation activities. This is a full-time, onsite opportunity. There is no remote work arrangement or location assistance available for this position.
Position Details
- Provides TWM application and product support to Customer Service/Sales.
- Establishes and maintains process instructions, engineering and product drawings, design records, and coordinates with Quality Department to establish appropriate screening and acceptance procedures and acceptance criteria.
- Provides technical training to operators and technicians involved with TWM plating and is the mentor coach for the entire product line.
- Establish a safe working environment for all TWM employees. Works with the Safety Manager and Regulatory Manager of AEM/Central to ensure that the TWM/Plating Line remains in compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements.
Key Positions Responsibilities and Accountabilities
All TWM and Plating Line activities including:
- Support all AEM TWM plating and related operations to ensure highest possible quality and on-time delivery objectives are met
- Specifies all equipment and equipment implementation for TWM plating
- Responsible for the generation and maintenance of process instructions necessary for plating
- Review purchase orders and related purchase order documents for the generation of Quality Planning Sheets (QPS) to ensure no customer requirements are missed
- Responsible for new TWM product qualifications and TWM pre-evaluation activities
- Evaluates and specifies plating processes as applicable to a wide range of passive and active electronic components and coordinates new plating chemical/raw material qualifications and supplier approvals with Quality and AEM Purchasing Departments
- Takes the lead supporting Quality with Failure Analysis (FA) and internal/external Corrective Action Request (CAR) activities
- Establishes and documents Preventative Maintenance (PM) plans for TWM plating and related processing and testing/screening equipment
- Adheres to all safety requirements and enforces compliance
- Interacts professionally with co-workers and vendors; understands internal customers; and strives to maintain good relations with others
- May assist in other areas or perform other duties as required by business demands

Requirements:Education and/or Experience Requirements:
· B.S. in Chemical Engineering or related Engineering degree
· Minimum of 2 years experience in electro-plating operations. Specific to electronics industry end applications a plus.
