About This Position
F5 Facility Services is seeking a highly skilled and self-directed Commercial Mason to join our growing team in Akron, Ohio. This position requires strong masonry experience and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining masonry structures for commercial clients, including brick, block, stone, and concrete surfaces. This role requires precision craftsmanship, strong problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship while maintaining excellent customer service.
Responsibilities:
Perform masonry work, including bricklaying, block installation, stonework, tuckpointing, and concrete repair.
Repair damaged masonry structures, including walls, steps, walkways, and facades.
Install and maintain brick, block, and stone structures in commercial buildings.
Mix and apply mortar, grout, and concrete to required specifications.
Inspect masonry structures to identify deterioration or safety concerns.
Read and interpret blueprints, site drawings, and construction plans.
Communicate clearly with clients regarding repair needs and project details.
Maintain accurate documentation of labor, materials, and completed work.
Follow all safety regulations and best practices for masonry work.
Prepare accurate project quotes and material estimates.
Maintain company tools, equipment, and work vehicles.
Work collaboratively with management and team members through remote communication tools.
Utilize company mobile applications to document job progress and submit reports.
Utilize customer-specific software for time tracking and job reporting.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a mason in commercial or residential construction.
Ability to work independently and manage projects efficiently.
Experience with brick, block, stone, and concrete work.
Strong knowledge of masonry materials, techniques, and safety practices.
Ability to read blueprints and construction plans.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Ability to lift heavy materials and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
Ability to estimate materials and labor for masonry projects.
Comfortable using mobile technology and reporting tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
OSHA certification.
Experience with commercial building repairs and restoration.
Experience with structural masonry and concrete finishing.
