Summary:
We provide chefs with expertly ground or cut and portion beef, pork, veal, lamb and other proteins on rigid meat-selection criteria, precise aging and expert trimming. The Production Associate will prepare high quality cuts of meats or grinds according to customer specifications using company standards and adhering to all safety requirements.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Assist in setting up equipment and tear down.
- Place products in packaging machine to be sealed correctly.
- Weigh and package cut proteins or grinds.
- Maintain safe, organized and clean facility by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations in accordance with company policy and as outlined by USDA and OSHA
- Actively participates in ensuring the safety and protection of our products against damage, deterioration and contamination.
- Complies with GMP’s, HACCP, SOP’s and Food Safety regulations and policies.
- Ability to effectively communicate with leaders and co-workers.
- Safely operate machinery such as conveyors, packaging equipment, labeling and taping machines
- Follow established equipment Lockout/Tagout procedures as required.
- Consistent attendance with on time arrival.
- Other duties as assigned.
Food & Physical Safety
- Perform duties to SQF (Safe Quality Food) level 2 standards and requirements.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), policies and procedures.
- Understand and complete your responsibilities under Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP)
- Wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by the position and/or task.
- Report any accidents, incidents, near misses immediately.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Work within established safe work practices, policies, and procedures.
Work Environment/Physical Demands
Associate will spend up to 100% of their time in refrigerated/frozen environment 35°F- 45°F. Associate must have the ability to constantly work on concrete floors in a cold, moist, and refrigerated environment. Associate must have the ability to safely use sharp tools such as knives and meat saws and constantly perform repetitive motion tasks. Associate must have the ability to lift-up to 75 pounds frequently and frequently bend, kneel and lift. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
