Sigma Design has collaborated with a global leader in audio technologies engineering and product development seeking an experienced Engineering Technician III to join their facility in Camas, WA. This company is a global leader in developing and manufacturing innovative consumer and professional grade audio solutions.What Is Offered:

Primary Function:
The Engineering Technician III is responsible for executing complex prototype builds, conducting advanced testing, and supporting engineering development efforts. The Engineering Technician III will collaborate closely with the Seattle-based EE lead, local project management and mechanical engineering teams, and international partners across China, Vietnam, and other global sites. This role owns deliveries related to test setup, troubleshooting, and process documentation.
This is a hands-on, lab-focused role emphasizing hardware validation, testing, troubleshooting, and collaboration on embedded system design for consumer and commercial grade audio products.
Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities:
- Perform complex prototype builds and test setups from minimal documentation
- Perform hands on assembly, soldering, and troubleshooting of electronic audio components
- Conduct characterization testing and produce test reports
- Suggest design improvements and influence development activities
- Manage quality, timeline, and delivery of assigned tasks
- Shadow Sr. Electrical Engineer and gain hands on experience with design processes and development methods
Education and Experience: (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent, or equivalent industry experience required
- 5+ years of experience in electrical prototype environments
- Solid experience with fine soldering.
- Deep understanding of schematics, component function, and test strategy
- Experience working with audio components including amplifiers
- Fluent in test data acquisition, electrical characterization, and debug workflows
- Skilled in rework, modification, and detailed documentation
- Strong collaboration and cross-functional communication skills
- Demonstratable leadership through initiative and mentoring
- Strong written and verbal English language communication skills
Work Environment
Lab: Standard lab/production environment. Appropriate safety garments (PPE) must be worn. Occasionally may be required to work in environmental conditions that emulate typical user environments in order to facilitate assembly, design testing, and validation. Occasionally may be required to travel as required to other facilities, clients, or suppliers. Must be able to stand and work as long as 12 hours in different positions. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
