About This Position
Position Title: Bartender
Department: Food and Beverage
Reports To: Food and Beverage Manager
FLSA Designation: Non-Exempt
SUMMARY: Responsible for preparing beverages for customers, servers, and guest service representatives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.
- Prepares and serves beverages for customers, servers, and guest service representatives.
- Collects money for beverages served.
- Check identification of customers to verify age requirements for alcohol purchases.
- Clean glasses, utensils, and bar equipment.
- Balance cash receipts and bar register.
- Attempts to limit problems and liabilities related to customers’ excessive alcohol intake.
- Stocks bar with beer, wine, liquor and related supplies such as ice, glassware, napkins, or straws.
- Clean bar and work area, which includes sanitizing and mopping.
- Assists others as needed.
- Maintains consistent and punctual attendance.
- Performs other duties assigned.
- Act as a cocktail server to gaming patrons.
- Records weight of liquor at the end of the shift.
- Perform weekly inventory counts of liquor, wine, beer bottles, kegs and supplies. Report ordering needs to Director/Manager.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general educational degree (GED) required. Previous bartending experience required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must be able to obtain Gaming License, ABLE License, and a Pawnee Nation Liquor License.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before employees, patrons, management, and directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written and oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Must maintain professional behavior and possess exceptional customer and employee service skills at all times. Must be able to multi-task and handle multiple customers and/or demands.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk and continuously required to stand. The employee will frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk while performing the duties of this job. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee continuously uses hand strength to grasp tools. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds such as crates, equipment, kegs, etc. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and peripheral vision.

Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and loud noises. Must be able to work all shifts, holidays and special events. The noise level is usually quiet to moderate and occasionally the noise level is frequently loud enough that the employee must raise his/her voice to be heard.
