JOB SUMMARY

The Cosmetologist is committed to providing a quality experience for our Elder population through professional cosmetology services. The Cosmetologist will have a passion for enhancing the well-being and self-esteem of our Elders by caring for them in an individualized and personalized manner.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Perform haircuts, styling, coloring, perms and treatments tailored to the preferences and needs of each resident.


• Foster a warm and welcoming atmosphere in the facility's salon area, ensuring residents feel comfortable and valued.


• Engage residents in friendly conversations and activities to enhance their salon experience and promote social interaction.


• Adhere to all sanitation and safety protocols to ensure a clean and safe environment for residents.


• Regularly clean and sanitize tools, equipment, and work areas following state and facility guidelines.


• Work closely with nursing and caregiving staff to understand the specific needs and preferences of residents.


• Coordinate appointments and manage schedules to accommodate residents’ healthcare routines and preferences.


• Develop and maintain positive relationships with residents, making them feel respected and valued.


• Contribute to the overall positive atmosphere of the facility by promoting self-esteem and well-being through professional cosmetology services.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS — Education, Experience and License

• Valid Cosmetology License in the state of Wyoming, required.


• Certification in specialized cosmetology services (e.g., hair coloring, perms, skincare), preferred.

Additional Skills

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and patient approach.


• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.


• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.


• Proficiency in various cosmetology techniques and services

Specific demands not listed: Possible exposure to blood and / or body fluids / infectious disease / hazardous waste requiring the use of Personal Protective Equipment. Exposure to odorous chemicals / specimens and Latex products. Pre-employment drug and alcohol screening is required.
