About This Position
Your Hometown Stations is seeking a Morning/Noon Meteorologist to join our weather team in Lima, Ohio. This is a dynamic, on-air role ideal for someone who is passionate about weather, enjoys connecting with viewers, and thrives in a fast-paced morning newsroom.
The successful candidate will lead weather coverage during our weekday morning and noon newscasts, delivering clear, engaging, and accurate forecasts that help viewers start and plan their day.
Essential Functions- Deliver accurate and engaging weathercasts during weekday morning and noon newscasts (6AM & Noon – NBC affiliate)
- Provide live weather cut-ins during morning network programming
- Generate and present forecasts across broadcast, web, and social platforms
- Post daily weather updates to the website and social media channels
- Go live in the field for weather or news coverage as needed
- Contribute as a weekday reporter when needed, including shooting, writing, and editing content
- Collaborate closely with the weather team and newsroom staff to ensure consistent, high-quality coverage
- Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology/Atmospheric Science or related field required
- 1–3 years of experience preferred with weather systems such as WSI Max
- Energetic, conversational on-air presence with strong communication skills
- Passion for weather and ability to connect with viewers in a morning-show environment
- Strong forecasting ability and comfort covering severe weather
- Ability to ad-lib and handle breaking weather situations
- Team-oriented mindset with strong collaboration skills
- Ability to shoot, write, and edit news and weather content (training available)
- Strong digital and social media skills
- Experience with WSI, AP ENPS, Adobe Premiere, and digital publishing tools
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and social media platforms
