Position Title: English Language Instructor (ELL) – Part-Time

Reports To: Training Supervisor

The Academic Instructor position provides support for a U.S Department of Labor Job Corps contractor. The Job Corps program is a federally-funded residential training program. The mission of Job Corps is to provide career-based technical and academic training and job placement assistance to program eligible youth ages 16-24.

Summary of Duties: We’re looking for a Part-Time English Language (ELL) Instructor to support students who are learning English as a second language. In this role, you’ll help students build confidence in reading, writing, speaking, and listening—while also preparing them for career and academic success.

Description of Duties:

As an ELL Instructor, you’ll create a supportive and engaging classroom environment while helping students develop essential language and life skills. Your responsibilities will include:

• Teaching English language skills including grammar, reading, writing, speaking, and pronunciation
• Creating lesson plans and instructional materials that meet diverse student needs
• Assessing student progress and adjusting instruction to support improvement
• Supporting students in preparing for tests, certifications, and next steps (employment, training, or college)
• Integrating real-world skills like communication, problem-solving, and teamwork into lessons
• Maintaining accurate records, including attendance, progress notes, and required documentation
• Collaborating with academic, career technical training, and support staff to ensure student success
• Providing guidance and encouragement to help students stay engaged and motivated
• Supporting students with accommodations and individualized learning plans when needed
• Creating a positive, structured, and safe learning environment

Credentials:

Education and Experience	Bachelor’s degree required. Teacher Certification in the state of employment.
Certifications, Licenses, Registration	Valid state driver’s license; Valid Teacher Certification, in state of employment
