Director of Maintenance

Duties & Responsibilities:

Utilize maintenance department resources to implement company initiatives
Project current and future needs of the maintenance department to support growth targets
Monitor Diesel Technician productivity by creating reports pulled from maintenance software
Create policies and processes to promote safe, quality repairs
Maintain control of assets
Create policies and processes to ensure inventory accuracy
Conduct weekly and monthly reports including but not limited to: labor utilization, inventory, repair times, parts spend, maintenance cost/mile
Oversee the planning and utilization of the available capacity in shop
Initiate conversations with vendors and evaluate the use of new products and/or technology
Identify and develop continuous improvement projects focused on increasing efficiency and overall spend of the maintenance department
Contain costs by using warranty; evaluating service and parts options.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical and regulation publications.
Enhances maintenance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Special Requirements:

Environment:

Combination of Office and Maintenance Shop that may be heated but no air conditioning. Exposure to dust, grease, vibration, loud noises, moving parts and other vehicles.
