Remote Accounts Payable Specialist

In this role, you will be an essential part of the Accounting/Finance team, ensuring the maintenance of a strong internal control environment and assisting with key financial processes. Your contributions will directly impact our financial reporting and operational efficiency. You will be expected to engage with various accounting functions, support audit activities, and utilize technology to enhance workflow. Accountabilities

Execute monthly accounting close procedures including journal entry postings.
Manage accounts payable processes, accounting for 30-50% of workday.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts accurately.
Collaborate with accounting areas including AP, AR, and Collections.
Assist with and prepare regular state and local sales tax filings.
Support the annual financial audit with external audit team.
Analyze account variance details to drive insights.
Utilize technology tools to design and automate processes.
Ensure data integrity and accurate reporting of operational results.
Identify cost reduction opportunities and analyze inventory management.

Requirements

Bachelors degree in accounting or finance or equivalent experience.
2 years experience in accounting preferred but not required.
Strong understanding of internal control structure.
Multi-state sales tax experience is preferred.
Intermediate to Advanced level in MS Excel, SAP B1 experience a plus.
Deadline driven, detail oriented, and capable of multitasking.
Natural curiosity about technology and processes.
Commitment to continuous process improvements and effective problem solving.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
