Description:

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

This position is responsible for leading our plastics machining team for coverage on all shifts. Ensures machine operators follow internal process and procedures. Inspects output efficiency and quality throughout the process and at completion. Establishing daily priorities and directs work-flow to employees with input from the manager. Ensures that machine operators are trained to perform functions safely and efficiently. This person also produces machined parts and components by setting up and operating CNC machines. Person in this position must at all times support and promote the company mission vision and values. 10 hrs/day, 4 days/wk.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Train machine operator team on the correct process for safety and efficiency.
  • Monitor output to maintain schedule compliance.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics and technical manuals.
  • Troubleshoot and improve processes where applicable.
  • Perform and document preventative maintenance on equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Assist in development of design / jigs / improvements to setup.
  • Partners with leadership to streamline the machining process to increase capacity.
  • Collaborate with other members of the production team to ensure efficient operation of machines.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Daily interaction with employees in the area, providing feedback to the manager.
Requirements:

EDUCATION & TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Technical or vocational training in mechanics, engineering, robotics, or related field preferred

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 1-5 years in machining, metal fabrication or related field
  • Experience with CNC systems preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
