The Opportunity

Lesley University’s Department of Psychology+ is seeking a qualified adjunct faculty member to teach: CPSYC 2403 - Theories of Personality; Fall Semester 2026; Wednesdays 4:00-6:30 pm; In-person, On-campus.


Course Description:
This course examines the major paradigms of personality theory through lectures, discussions, and case study analysis. Students will explore contemporary research and learn models of personality development in relation to current clinical practices. The course considers a range of theoretical perspectives, including biological and trait theories, psychoanalytic and neo-Freudian approaches, feminist perspectives, social-behavioral theories, and humanistic and holistic frameworks. Through critical analysis and application of these perspectives, students will learn the factors that shape personality and influence psychological functioning.

Qualities & Capabilities

A successful candidate will have:

  • A Master’s degree in Psychology or a related field (required); PhD or terminal degree (preferred)

  • Demonstrated success teaching at the undergraduate level

  • Commitment to student-centered, inclusive, and equitable teaching practices

  • Experience in constructivist, inquiry-based learning

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
