The Opportunity
Lesley University's Department of Expressive Therapies is seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach: GEXTH 5117 - Theories in Music Therapy; Fall Semester 2026; Mondays 7:00 - 9:00 pm; In-Person, On-Campus.
Course Description:
This course focuses on the clinical application of music therapy theories. Foundational theories, techniques, and research in both music therapy and expressive therapies are explored and compared. A central component of the course involves learning and applying group dynamics, particularly through a core seminar and active participation in various group settings.
A successful candidate will have:
A Master's degree in Music Therapy, Expressive Therapies, Counseling, or related field (required)
Music Therapy credentials (MT-BC)
Teaching experience in Music Therapy, Expressive Therapies, or related field, at the graduate level
Two+ years FTE clinical experience, with a record of scholarly activity (required); Five+ years clinical experience (preferred)
Ability to teach music therapy clinical courses, in addition to music therapy specialization courses
Experience with AMTA accreditation (preferred)
