Customer Demand Planner III in Valencia, California at ITT Aerospace Controls LLC

The Customer Demand Planner III is responsible for owning and managing customer demand inputs to the MRP. This role evaluates customer demand accuracy, master data integrity, and creates a disciplined interface between customer portals, customer service order entry and BPCS MRP signals. They are expect to effectively translate customer and backlog demand into effective material and production plans in concert with operations planners and schedulers. The Planner III works cross-functionally with Customer Service, Master Scheduling, Supply Chain, Production, Engineering, and Quality to ensure demand signals, planning assumptions, lead times, and system data are accurate, current, and aligned across the planning horizon.

Order Entry to MRP Ownership Across All Product Lines

• Serve as the primary owner of customer service interface with the MRP
• Run, analyze, and maintain MRP outputs to ensure planning signals reflect current demand, supply conditions, and planning assumptions.
• Own evaluation of customer backlog, alignment between customer portals and ITT-owned BPCS MRP
• Own and document customer demand assumptions, evaluating unique MRP customizations specific to top commercial customers and critical defense customers

Planning Message & Exception Management

• Perform daily review and action management of customer backlog to reduce delinquent backlog and support book and turn opportunities in the Aftermarket.
• Act as the first line of defense in identifying, filtering, and correcting customer demand management, including on-time delivery, escalations, and resolving customer requests for expedite / de-expedite / cancellation with ITT commercial interest in mind

Planned Order Management

• Firm, adjust, release, or defer planned orders in alignment with production plans and material readiness.
• Coordinate planned order releases with Master Scheduling and capacity considerations.
• Prevent unnecessary early releases or duplicate demand signals.

Demand Management & Order Integrity

• Partner with Customer Service Representatives (CSRs) to maintain accurate and actionable customer demand signals in the ERP system.
• Support demand clean-up activities including stale orders, misaligned promise dates, duplicate demand, and invalid requirements.

Master Data & System Integrity

• Maintain and continuously improve planning-related master data including lead times, order policies, planning BOMs, routings, yield, and scrap assumptions.
• Collaborate with Master Schedulers and Planners to establish and periodically review planning and manufacturing lead times to support existing commercial need and create new opportunities to win on lead time with customers
• Support audits and data governance initiatives tied to planning accuracy.

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in production planning, material planning, or manufacturing operations.
• Demonstrated experience owning MRP planning for defined value streams or product lines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (e.g., APCS/BPCS, Oracle, Epicor, or similar).
