Maintenance Technician
Department: Maintenance FLSA Status: Non – Exempt/Full Time
Amount of Travel Required: 0% Positions Supervised: None
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:00am - 2:30 pm, with a 30 minute lunch
POSITION SUMMARY
Maintenance Technician II supports all duties associated with the Maintenance Department and repair of process equipment. Duties include responsibility for all equipment maintenance activities as well as all general building upkeep functions. Responsible for support of equipment maintenance activities that include preventative maintenance, modifications to tools, safety activities, and rework.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provides assistance for ensuring facility compliance with OSHA, Fire, and City Codes.
Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and infrastructure, as deemed necessary by industry standards or recommended by the Manufacturer, or as assigned by the Maintenance Manager. Proactively identify potential maintenance related issues and opportunities and implement cost effective solutions.
Work with maintenance technicians to diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary.
Will perform electrical wiring including conduct bending, wire pulling, wire termination and basic troubleshooting.
- Will perform maintenance and adjustments on various production equipment as required..
ESSENTIAL TASKS
- Complete pipe fitting; insulation; welding; machining; carpentry; repairing electrical or mechanical equipment; installing, aligning, and balancing new equipment; HVAC; and repairing buildings, floors, or stairs.
Paint and repair roofs, windows, doors, floors, woodwork, plaster, drywall, and other parts of building structures.

EDUCATION
High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
EXPERIENCE
At least one year of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Computer Skills
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office programs (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
- Ability to learn MiTek's internal systems
- Ability to use the Net Facilities computerized maintenance management system
Other Requirements
- Working knowledge of two or more areas of maintenance
- Ability to become forklift certified, train others in forklift operations, and drive a forklift
- Ability to maintain and troubleshoot production equipment, as required
- Ability to identify and utilize appropriate hand tools
- Familiarity with operation of all tools, maintenance equipment, metal and woodworking crafts
