WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

First impressions matter — and as our Host / Cashier, you’re often the first and last person a guest interacts with in the restaurant. You’ll welcome them in, help manage the flow of the dining room, handle payments with accuracy and confidence, and send every guest off with a smile. It’s a role that requires equal parts people skills and attention to detail. If you love working with guests, stay calm under pressure, and take pride in getting the numbers right, this is a great fit.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Greet and welcome all guests as they arrive in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Compute or recompute bills, itemized lists, and tickets showing amounts due using a cash register or point-of-sale system.
  • Make change, cash checks, and issue receipts to guests accurately.
  • Record amounts received and prepare reports of transactions.
  • Read and record totals shown on cash register tape and verify against cash on hand.
  • Read, maintain, and make daily entries in the shift logbook to coordinate communication between shifts and management.
  • Maintain knowledge of the value and features of menu items and other offerings.
  • Issue cash refunds or credit memorandums to guests for returned merchandise as authorized.

SKILLS & ABILITIES YOU BRING

  • Basic math skills to calculate costs, process transactions, and make accurate change.
  • Strong guest relations skills; ability to interact with the public with tact, courtesy, and professionalism.
  • Ability to handle guest complaints and concerns effectively in a calm, friendly, and positive manner.
  • Sound judgment and ability to make decisions based on verifiable information.
  • Professional appearance and manner maintained at all times.
  • Ability to perform routine tasks consistently and follow established procedures reliably.
  • Physical ability to perform repetitive motions; lift, bend, stoop, walk, push, or pull equipment; stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow instructions from supervisors accurately.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required, or an equivalent level of education and experience.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking work environment.
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage service standards, guest relations, and etiquette.
  • Basic cash handling and math skills; experience with a cash register or POS system preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members in a friendly and professional manner.

SCHEDULE & HOURS

This position is part-time (Weekend Availability Required), with schedules that may vary based on business need. Flexibility to work any day of the week, including weekends and holidays, may be required. Specific shift details will be discussed during the interview process.
