This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Chief Compliance Officer in Canada.

This is a senior executive leadership opportunity responsible for designing and overseeing a global compliance framework within a fast-growing, internationally operating organization. The role sits at the highest level of governance, reporting directly to the CEO and Board, and carries full accountability for regulatory integrity, risk management, and ethical standards across multiple jurisdictions.
You will be tasked with building a world-class compliance function from the ground up, shaping policies and controls that support both rapid global expansion and regulatory rigor.
The position spans AML/KYC oversight, data privacy, internal audit, and enterprise risk management, requiring deep expertise in complex and evolving regulatory environments.
You will act as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, ensuring compliance strategies align with business growth while maintaining strong governance standards.
This is a highly confidential and strategic role suited for a seasoned compliance executive with global experience, exceptional judgment, and the ability to operate at Board level.
The environment is dynamic and high-growth, requiring both strategic vision and hands-on leadership to establish scalable compliance structures.

Accountabilities:
  • Design, implement, and lead a global compliance program covering financial regulation, data privacy, commercial operations, and multi-jurisdictional requirements.
  • Oversee AML/KYC frameworks to ensure compliant onboarding of clients, investors, and partners, particularly in the context of high-value and capital-driven transactions.
  • Develop and enforce global data privacy and security policies aligned with GDPR, CCPA, and other international regulatory standards.
  • Establish and manage internal audit and enterprise risk management functions, ensuring transparency and accurate reporting to executive leadership and the Board.
  • Create and implement corporate ethics frameworks, including Code of Conduct, anti-bribery (FCPA), and global compliance training programs.
  • Monitor evolving global regulatory landscapes and proactively adapt compliance strategies to ensure continuous alignment.
  • Advise senior leadership and the Board on compliance risks, governance, and strategic decision-making.
  • Build and scale a high-performing compliance organization capable of supporting international growth and operational complexity.
  • Foster a strong culture of integrity, accountability, and ethical behavior across all business units.
  • Serve as the primary authority for compliance across all regions and functions.
Requirements:
  • 12+ years of experience in compliance, legal, or regulatory leadership roles within international or multi-jurisdictional organizations.
  • Strong expertise in AML/KYC, financial compliance, and global regulatory frameworks.
  • Deep knowledge of data privacy regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, and related international standards.
  • Proven track record of building and leading compliance functions in high-growth or globally operating environments.
  • Experience reporting directly to CEOs and Boards, with strong executive presence and influence.
  • Ability to manage complex regulatory environments across multiple continents and legal systems.
  • Strong analytical, risk management, and strategic decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • High level of discretion, integrity, and ability to operate in highly confidential environments.
  • JD or Master’s in Law or Compliance preferred; certifications such as CAMS or CCEP are a plus.
Benefits:
  • Competitive executive-level compensation package aligned with senior leadership roles
  • Fully remote work flexibility across Canada and other eligible regions
  • Opportunity to build and lead a global compliance function from the ground up
  • Direct exposure to CEO and Board-level strategic decision-making
  • High-impact leadership role within a fast-growing international organization
  • Opportunity to shape global governance, risk, and compliance standards
  • Dynamic, high-responsibility environment with significant autonomy
  • Additional benefits depending on regional eligibility and structure.
