This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Golang Applications Engineer based in the United States.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced backend engineer to build scalable, high-performance applications using Go in a fully remote environment. You will contribute to cloud-native platforms, infrastructure tooling, and distributed systems where reliability, concurrency, and efficiency are essential. Working alongside cross-functional teams, you will help transform complex technical requirements into robust production-ready solutions while influencing engineering best practices. The role offers significant ownership, opportunities to mentor fellow engineers, and the chance to work on modern technologies that power mission-critical applications. If you enjoy solving complex backend challenges and thrive in collaborative engineering environments, this position offers both impact and long-term career growth.
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services, cloud-native applications, and infrastructure tooling using Go.
- Build and optimize production-grade REST and gRPC APIs with a focus on scalability, performance, and reliability.
- Develop solutions for distributed systems while ensuring efficient concurrency, networking, and resource utilization.
- Collaborate closely with product, engineering, operations, and business teams to translate technical and business requirements into scalable software solutions.
- Participate in architecture discussions, design reviews, and code reviews to maintain high engineering standards across the development lifecycle.
- Improve deployment pipelines, containerized environments, and Kubernetes-based applications to support efficient software delivery.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues, optimize application performance, and contribute to continuous platform improvements.
- Mentor junior engineers, promote engineering best practices, and contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing.
- At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience with significant hands-on expertise in Go (Golang).
- Strong understanding of Go concurrency concepts, including goroutines, channels, and contexts.
- Proven experience building and maintaining production REST and/or gRPC APIs.
- Hands-on experience developing applications within Kubernetes environments, including Kubernetes-native tooling.
- Solid knowledge of distributed systems, networking fundamentals, and scalable backend architecture.
- Experience working with relational databases, key-value data stores, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized deployments.
- Excellent debugging, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Experience contributing to open-source Go projects, Kubernetes operators/controllers, security-focused applications, service mesh, eBPF, WebAssembly, TinyGo, or embedded systems is considered a plus.
- 100% remote position based in the United States.
- Full-time direct employment opportunity.
- Competitive annual salary ranging from $130,000 to $145,000.
- Opportunity to work with modern cloud-native technologies and large-scale distributed systems.
- Exposure to challenging technical projects with strong opportunities for professional growth.
- Collaborative engineering culture focused on innovation, technical excellence, and continuous learning.
- Work alongside experienced engineering teams in a supportive and knowledge-sharing environment.
- Eligibility for U.S. Citizens, Green Card holders, EAD holders, and H-1B transfer candidates (new H-1B sponsorship is not available).
