Position Summary
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced Accountant / Bookkeeper to manage the day-to-day accounting operations for our well established and highly successful commercial real estate company. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of commercial real estate accounting, accounts payable and accounts receivable, rent collections, bank reconciliations, financial reporting, and property management software, including Yardi Breeze or Yardi Voyager. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy of financial records while supporting property management, leasing, and brokerage operations.

Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Management
• Maintain accurate financial records for multiple commercial properties.
• Prepare and record daily journal entries.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit card accounts, and general ledger accounts.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements.
• Assist with annual budgets and forecasting.
• Support CPA during annual audits and tax preparation.
• Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and GAAP.

Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Generate and distribute tenant rent invoices.
• Collect monthly rent, CAM charges, and other tenant billings.
• Monitor tenant accounts and follow up on delinquent balances.
• Post tenant payments and maintain accurate tenant ledgers.
• Process security deposits and refunds.

Accounts Payable (AP)
• Process vendor invoices accurately and timely.
• Schedule and issue payments to vendors and contractors.
• Maintain vendor files, W-9s, and payment records.
• Review invoices for proper approvals and coding.
• Reconcile vendor statements.

Property Accounting
• Maintain accounting records for commercial office, retail and industrial properties.
• Prepare owner financial reports.
• Track operating expenses and capital improvements.
• Assist with Common Area Maintenance (CAM) reconciliations.
• Monitor lease-related financial obligations.
• Work closely with property managers and leasing agents regarding tenant accounts.

Banking & Reconciliations
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
• Reconcile operating and escrow accounts.
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Monitor cash flow and account balances.

Software & Reporting
• Maintain accurate records using Yardi Breeze or Yardi Voyager.
• Generate financial and management reports from Yardi.
• Utilize Microsoft Excel for advanced reporting, analysis, and reconciliations.
• Maintain electronic filing systems and accounting documentation.

Required Qualifications
• Associate's or Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 3-5 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
• At least 2 years of commercial real estate accounting experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes.
• Experience with rent collections and tenant accounting.
• Experience reconciling multiple bank accounts.
• Knowledge of general ledger accounting and financial reporting.
• Experience working with multiple entities and property portfolios.
