Job Description

Job Title: School Based Occupational Therapist

Supervisor: Special Education Coordinator/ Principal, K1-8

Hours: Specific arrival and departure times will be discussed with the Hiring Manager. This is a Part Time role, projected for up to 20 hours/week.

Description: The Occupational Therapist is responsible for providing therapy services and supports to students, including individual, inclusion, and small-group based therapy. Additionally, the Occupational Therapist is responsible for managing and developing an integrated OT program within greater school community.

Compensation: Codman Academy follows a pay structure based on years of experience and education. The salary ranges from $32,000 - $60,752 (PT salaries based on pay structure).

Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Provide small group and/or individual occupational therapy for identified students in grades K-12 with sensory, physical, motor, and other therapy needs.
  • Maintain records on the initial evaluation, progress, and discharge of students to identify problems, track progress, and justify treatment.
  • Develop an individualized plan of care for each student. Provide present levels of functioning and OT goals and objectives for students’ IEPs.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with teachers, special educators, administrators, and families to develop and implement individual or group programs and support classroom activities.
  • Use qualitative and quantitative assessment methods, including screenings, standardized tests, and special instruments, to analyze and diagnose the nature and extent of occupational therapy impairments and to measure progress toward IEP goals and standards. Write comprehensive evaluations.
  • Participate in grade level team meetings, faculty meetings, Intervention and Referral Services meetings, and Student Support Team meetings as necessary.
  • Work in conjunction with Special Education Coordinator and Building Principal to plan further responsibilities of the role, in line with school development vision.
