Job Description
JOB SUMMARY: The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care and clinical support within Hope Christian Health Center's Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) and Recuperative Care Center (RCC) environments. The RN serves patients recovering from acute illness, injury, surgery, or hospitalization who require short-term medical respite services. Responsibilities include performing comprehensive assessments, administering treatments and medications, coordinating care, promoting disease prevention and health education, and collaborating with providers and interdisciplinary team members to ensure high-quality patient outcomes. The RN supports quality improvement initiatives, assists in reducing hospital readmissions through effective care coordination and patient education, and demonstrates Hope Christian Health Center's mission, values, and commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.
Per Diem Position – Open to Day and Night Shifts
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Functions
- Always maintains a courteous and professional demeanor; greets individuals and patients
- Provides accurate, detailed, and succinct messages to providers and staff
- Completes patient evaluations and assessments
- Assists with patient admissions and discharges
- Starts and maintains IVs
- Maintains PICC lines
- Administers medications to patients
- Daily charting (Progress notes/MAR)
- Provides wound care
- Obtains and records patient vital signs and evaluates results.
- Venipuncture and collection of urine specimens
- Administers injections and vaccinations
- Performs CLIA-waived testing.
- Medication reconciliation
- Ostomy care
- General patient education and coaching
- Obtains patient consent/signature(s) when necessary
- Takes orders from appropriate medical staff
- Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following established standards, procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Use appropriate precautions to prevent the spread of infection and disease.
- Complies with HIPAA and protects patient information
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications
- Maintains all BLS certifications and state licensure
- Attends and actively participates in staff meetings

- Always maintains the confidentiality of Hope Christian Health Center finances and patient-related information.
- Performs all other duties as assigned
- The Registered Nurse (RN) ensures compliance with all 19 Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Health Center Program Requirements.
- The Registered Nurse (RN) is expected to actively participate in and support quality improvement activities and clinical practice team efforts that emphasize the importance of individualized, patient-centered care.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the State of Nevada. - required
- Valid AHA Certified Basic Life Support (BLS) certification - required
Education Required:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program – required

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pushing, and pulling. Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Manual dexterity is sufficient to perform nursing procedures and documentation. Ability to communicate effectively in person and by telephone. Ability to travel between clinic locations as needed.
