Job Description

Veterinary Assistant
$19–$21/hr based on experience
Full-time and part-time opportunities in Kelowna, B.C.
Schedule: Minimum 64 hours per pay period; rotating shifts including one weekend day per week, evenings, overnights, and some statutory holidays. Part-time considered based on staffing needs.

In your day-to-day, you will:

  • Support veterinarians and technicians with hands-on patient care during emergency and critical care cases
  • Assist with restraint, basic treatments, and day-to-day patient handling across a high-volume caseload
  • Bring strong math fundamentals (fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions) to daily tasks
  • Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams
  • Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture

What You Bring

  • High school diploma; Veterinary Assistant Degree/Certification preferred
  • Comfort with physical demands of the role, including standing/walking up to 10 hours per day and occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Punctuality, reliability, and a compassionate, empathetic approach with clients and patients
  • A collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care
