Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE
As Senior Project Buyer, you are the single point of contact for Purchasing within cross-functional program teams representing purchasing strategy and targets from sourcing decision through launch. You own the purchasing-related material cost, timing, and quality targets for your assigned programs, coordinating closely with Commodity Buyers, Supplier Quality (SDE), R&D, and Program/Project Management to keep programs on track.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Team Representation: Act as the single point of contact for Purchasing within cross-functional program teams.
Supplier Selection & Sourcing Decisions: Coordinate supplier selection for assigned programs.
Cost, Timing & Quality Ownership: Own achievement of project material cost targets, timing milestones, and quality.
Cross-Functional Coordination: Coordinate project-specific purchasing activities.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain required project purchasing documentation.
Risk & Escalation Management: Identify and escalate program-related supply risks.
Launch Coordination: Coordinate the release and launch of purchased materials, parts, and tooling.
Compliance & Materials Ensure timely and accurate material compliance reporting.
Stakeholder Communication: Ensure consistent information flow between Purchasing and stakeholders.
WHAT YOU BRING
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
5-7+ years of experience in purchasing, program/project buying, or sourcing in automotive.
Working knowledge of APQP, PPAP and IMDS.
Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent programs.
Strong cross-functional and stakeholder management skills.
Experience coordinating with commodity buyers and supplier quality functions.
Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to documentation accuracy.
Fluent in Spanish a plus.
