The Senior Architect, Data will lead data architecture initiatives, ensuring enterprise data platforms are scalable, secure, reliable, and aligned with business objectives. The role involves designing data solutions, supporting transformation efforts, improving data quality, and partnering with technical and business stakeholders to deliver high-value outcomes.
- Provide data architecture support for projects and enhancements, including the development of data management, integration, architecture, and governance strategies.
- Lead architecture design, documentation, implementation, and maintenance activities for databases and related data systems.
- Design and optimize relational databases, physical data models, and data structures supporting enterprise applications and security requirements.
- Translate business requirements into effective ETL processes, reporting solutions, and data validation designs.
- Develop and improve data platforms by identifying opportunities to increase performance, scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency.
- Monitor data operations, identify discrepancies and quality issues, and implement improvements to maintain data integrity and consistency.
- Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that support better business decisions.
- Collaborate with project teams by providing technical input, estimates, risk assessments, mitigation strategies, and progress updates.
- Review database changes and technical implementations to ensure production stability, security, and performance.
- Support data governance practices by contributing to policies, standards, documentation, and processes that strengthen data management.
- Partner with business teams, technical resources, and vendors to deliver effective data solutions and bridge technical and operational needs.
The ideal candidate is an experienced data architecture professional with strong technical expertise in database design, ETL development, data modeling, and enterprise data platforms. You should be comfortable working across business and technology teams while driving scalable and secure data solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in data architecture, information management, computer science, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of five years of experience combining database administration, data development, and data architecture responsibilities.
- Strong experience with PostgreSQL, Snowflake, and enterprise data platforms.
- Hands-on expertise with ETL development tools and technologies such as Talend, SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Boomi, or equivalent solutions.
- Strong understanding of data warehouse architecture principles, data integration patterns, and large-scale data processing.
- Experience designing logical and physical data models using data modeling tools.
- Proven ability to optimize, load, and process large datasets from multiple sources while maintaining accuracy and quality.
- Knowledge of data governance principles, security practices, and enterprise data management processes.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, technical teams, and external partners.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data challenges.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document technical solutions and present findings clearly.
- Experience in fleet management, mobility, or related industries is considered an asset.
- Certifications related to PostgreSQL or Snowflake are considered an asset.
- Competitive annual salary range of $99,200–$136,400 CAD, based on experience, skills, and market alignment.
