The Pulmonary, Allergy, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine Division is made of up approximately 70 clinical staff and over 100 research staff who work in a variety of locations including: Bridgeside Point, Biomedical Science Tower (BST), UPMC Hospitals including Presbyterian, Shadyside, East, Jameson and Mercy. The division provides world class services across 10 inpatient services at five hospitals and over 70,000 outpatient office visits. We have a major research mission that focuses on basic, clinical, and translational research on the lung, microbiome, COVID-19, sleep medicine, and allergy and immunology.
The Project Manager manages all operational aspects of a large, complex, multi-institution federally funded research program. The incumbent will drive the master and individual schedules, milestones, and deliverables; coordinates partner sites; monitors budget and subawards; leads federal reporting and compliance; and supports scientific and non-scientific write-ups. The incumben will work closely with the PI and exercises independent judgment to keep the program on track.
Oversees all aspects of planning, design, and execution of large or complex projects. Assists in developing timelines and ensures adherence to deadlines. Manages financial aspects of projects and other administrative duties. Handles external correspondence and drafts reports and other communications.
Essential Functions
• Maintain the program master and granular schedules; track milestones, deliverables, and Go/No-Go gates, anticipating critical-path risks and driving corrective action.
• Coordinate execution across all partner sites — set meeting cadence, manage action items, serve as central point of contact for the consortium.
• Monitor budget and burn against plan; coordinate subaward invoicing and financial compliance with the grants office.
• Support preparation and on-time submission of quarterly and annual technical and business reports to the sponsor.
• Coordinate compliance and regulatory logistics (COI, MTAs, biosafety, export control, FDA submissions), maintain document/data control, and scientific and non-scientific write-ups as requested by the PI.
• Support the PI on all aspects of project and program management as requested.
