GEOINT Source Strategies AnalystNGA · GEOINT COLLECTION · SOURCE STRATEGY · SENIOR
Effective GEOINT collection doesn't happen by accident — it happens because analysts who understand the full TCPED pipeline build strategies that match the right sensors to the right problems at the right time. As a Senior GEOINT Source Strategies Analyst, you bring five-plus years of collection management experience to bear on complex multi-source intelligence challenges, helping NGA and its customers get the imagery they need before the window closes.
The Senior GEOINT Source Strategies Analyst applies operational collection management expertise across the full TCPED pipeline to develop multi-source collection strategies that address complex and unusual intelligence requirements. You work with customers and source providers to translate intelligence needs into taskable collection requirements, manage large multi-source datasets, and apply knowledge of overhead sensor phenomenology and automated collection approaches to improve strategy quality. You navigate NSG and IC collection management structures and tools and operate effectively across a multi-location program management environment.
Source-Derived Role Summary
The Discover and Collection Specialist collaborates with customers and source providers to develop comprehensive multi-intelligence, multi-source strategies to address complex or unusual intelligence problems. Position supports real-time and activity-based collection, automated collection strategies, and sensemaking of large multi-source datasets in support of GEOINT collection management.
- ✓Develop multi-source, multi-intelligence collection strategies to address complex intelligence requirements — accounting for sensor availability, phenomenology constraints, and customer priorities
- ✓Support the research phase of Information Need development; assess the impacts of phenomenology on tasking decisions for traditional and non-traditional GEOINT sensors
- ✓Manage large multi-source datasets: sense-make across feeds, assess model output confidence and reliability metrics, and surface findings as actionable collection recommendations
- ✓Develop automated collection strategies and apply inferencing methodologies that derive insights from temporal and spatial datasets in collaboration with data scientists
- ✓Use NSG and IC collection management structures and collaborative tools to coordinate GEOINT collection, production, and visualization across distributed teams
- ✓Multi-task across simultaneous operational demands in a program management environment supporting several geographically separated locations
Mission Impact
The collection strategies you develop determine what GEOINT reaches decision makers — and what doesn't. Solving complex intelligence problems through multi-source strategy is directly connected to the accuracy and timeliness of intelligence products across the IC and DoD.
Geo Owl Impact
Your operational expertise and customer relationships contribute directly to Geo Owl's performance on this contract and our reputation as a trusted GEOINT partner at NGA.
Your Growth
You'll deepen expertise in automated collection strategy and AI-informed collection approaches while expanding your network across NGA, the IC, and source communities — building the foundation for Expert-level leadership roles.

- Certifications: 0.5 pts each
- Specialized Training: 0.25 pts per relevant course
- Professional Impact (publications, presentations, patents): up to 3 pts total
- ▸You think in collection architectures — you see sensor gaps, timing windows, and coverage conflicts before they become problems
- ▸You're fluent in phenomenology — you know how sensor physics and geometry constrain collection options and you build strategy around those realities
- ▸You bridge the analytic and technical worlds — you can collaborate with data scientists applying inferencing models and translate outputs into collection guidance
- ▸You manage competing priorities under operational pressure — multiple customers, multiple locations, a collection environment that doesn't slow down
- ▸You communicate with precision — you can take a complex intelligence need, translate it into a taskable collection requirement, and explain the tradeoffs clearly
✔ Great Fit
You are a mid-career GEOINT collection professional with solid TCPED experience and a working knowledge of overhead sensor phenomenology and multi-source data environments. You want to develop comprehensive collection strategies on challenging intelligence problems — and you're ready to operate at pace across a distributed IC environment.
✘ May Not Be For You
This may not be the right fit if your background is primarily in imagery exploitation or finished intelligence production without direct collection management experience, or if the multi-customer, multi-location operational tempo is not a fit for your working style.
This role builds operational collection management experience at the senior level while expanding your exposure to automated and AI-informed collection approaches that are reshaping the TCPED pipeline. You'll develop relationships across NGA, the IC, and source communities that are valuable across the entire arc of a GEOINT career — and build toward Expert-level leadership in source strategy and collection management.
