YOUR PURPOSE
The role of s Commissioning Agent is dedicated to supporting project success through quality assurance, systems coordination, and collaborative problem solving throughout the building process. You will assist with commissioning activities, support building systems testing and documentation, and work alongside multidisciplinary project teams to help ensure building performance aligns with project goals and owner expectations. This role provides the opportunity to build technical knowledge across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building systems while gaining exposure to all phases of the commissioning process. As you grow in the role, you will develop confidence in field observations, client interaction, troubleshooting, and help deliver high-performing, functional spaces.
YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS + IMPACT
Key Actions
- Support the development of design solutions by assisting multidisciplinary teams and applying emerging commissioning skills to meet project goals.
- Support commissioning activities through commissioning plan development, conducting functional performance testing, tracking and documenting issues, and assisting with final reporting to verify system readiness.
- Coordinate design and document reviews by evaluating construction documents for functional, operational, and maintenance considerations and collaborating with project teams to resolve identified issues while supporting quality and budget goals.
- Contribute to the refinement of commissioning standards and quality practices by following established processes and offering observations for improvement.
- Help foster a collaborative team culture by communicating openly, being accountable for your work, and contributing positively to team efforts.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Client Engagement
- Support client engagement by delivering high-quality work on schedule, contributing appropriately in meetings, and maintaining clear, professional communication.
- Participate in occasional networking or professional organization activities to begin building industry awareness and connections.
- Through mentorship and guidance, develop design documents and solutions to reflect project goal responsibilities and expectations.

Project Coordination
- Assist with coordination of commissioning efforts across internal teams, consultants, and construction partners to help meet schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
- Support smooth project delivery by organizing information, tracking tasks, and maintaining clear communication with team members.
- Participate in design reviews and contribute constructive feedback as you build technical confidence.
- Learn from more experienced team members by observing best practices and applying lessons learned to your work.

Professional Foundations
- Associate‘s or Bachelor’s Degree in HVAC, mechanical engineering or related discipline.
- Professional Licensure and relevant Commissioning Certifications a plus. LEED Accredited experience is a plus.
- A graduate to 5 years of professional relevant experience, including direct commissioning experience, field technician for HVAC controls, or similar experience. Internships and co-ops will be considered.
- Four or more years of experience as a mechanical designer or in the field of commissioning.
- Knowledge proficiency of standards and codes. Field HVAC experience is a plus.
- Knowledge and experience in REVIT and Cx Alloy software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project, Teams).
- Familiarity with Google Workspace (Slides, Docs, Sheets, Forms, Calendar, Gmail).
