What You Will Do
- The Full Practice Authority Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (FPA APRN) provides primary ambulatory care and telehealth services as part of the Student Health Service healthcare team.
- The incumbent assesses health status, evaluates and manages illnesses or injuries, promotes wellness, disease prevention, and health education, and coordinates appropriate follow-up care, referrals, and case management.
- Additionally, the FPA APRN utilizes advanced diagnostic skills, orders diagnostic tests, and prescribes medication and drugs in accordance with the Nursing and Advanced Practice Nursing Act and practices without serving under a collaborative physician.
- The FPA APRN uses medical, therapeutic, and corrective measures to treat illness and improve health status. They also serve on health center committees as needed.
- The FPA APRN provides input for the continuous improvement of services and understands the principles of patient-centered care and the importance of the primary care provider delivering high-quality patient care.
FLSA: Exempt
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications- Graduate of an accredited diploma or baccalaureate nursing program
- License as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois without restriction
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner's Master's degree program (Women's Heath, Adult or Family Practice) AND certified as an advanced nurse practitioner;
OR - Graduate of a diploma or baccalaureate program in nursing plus a formal post-graduate nurse practitioner program AND current certification.
- Licensed as a Full Practice Authority Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (FPA APRN) in the State of Illinois without restriction.
