Position Overview
The Quality Control Manager (QCM) ensures all construction meets VA specifications. You will implement, maintain, and enforce the Project Quality Control Plan.
Key Responsibilities
- Enforce Compliance: Direct the 3-phase quality control system daily.
- Conduct Inspections: Perform preparatory, initial, and follow-up rework inspections.
- Manage Documentation: Maintain daily QC reports and submittal logs.
- Coordinate Testing: Schedule and oversee independent material testing labs.
- Lead Meetings: Chair weekly QC coordination meetings with VA stakeholders.
- Review Submittals: Verify shop drawings and materials against contract documents.
- On-site at all times during construction.
- Track deficiencies and ensure correction.
- Controlling submittals, testing, and documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum four (4) years of related construction experience.
- Certification: Current USACE/NAVFAC Construction Quality Management (CQM) certification.
- Agency Experience : Direct experience managing Department of Veterans Affairs project.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with VA Master Specifications and healthcare building codes.
- Safety: Valid OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification.
Skill & Competencies
- Proficiency in RMS or similar federal project management software.
- Strong written communication for technical report writing.
- Ability to read and interpret complex healthcare blueprints.
- Collaborative mindset to work with VA Resident Engineers.
