Job Description

Position Summary

The Production Scheduler is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring production schedules. This role serves as a critical link between production, inventory control, suppliers, and management; balancing customer demand, material availability, and manufacturing capacity to achieve on-time delivery, cost control, and operational efficiency.

Production Scheduling
  • Develop, maintain, and adjust daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules for pillow manufacturing lines based on forecasts, customer orders, and capacity constraints.
  • Coordinate with production supervisors to sequence work orders efficiently, considering labor availability, machine capacity, and changeover requirements.
  • Monitor production progress and revise schedules as needed to address delays, quality issues, equipment downtime, or material shortages.
  • Communicate schedules and changes clearly to production, warehouse, and quality teams.
  • Gain excellent work order knowledge for creation, material availability, material issuing, label printing, production reporting, work order completion, etc.
  • Track key production metrics such as schedule adherence, throughput, and on-time completion.
Inventory & Data Management
  • Maintain accurate records of production schedules, monitor inventory levels, and supplier information within SAP/=ERP or MRP systems.
  • Perform routine inventory reviews and assist with cycle counts and physical inventories.
  • Analyze usage trends and historical data to support forecasting and purchasing decisions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Act as a liaison between customer service, production, warehouse, and accounting to align demand, supply, and financial controls.
  • Support new product introductions or changes by coordinating material availability and updating schedules accordingly.
  • Assist management with operational reports and ad hoc analyses as required.
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree in supply chain, operations management, or a related field preferred.
  • 2–4 years of experience in production scheduling, customer service, or supply chain coordination in a manufacturing environment; textile or bedding industry experience is a strong plus.
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong understanding of production scheduling principles and purchasing processes.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficiency with SAP.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify issues, and implement practical solutions.
Working Conditions
  • Manufacturing plant and office environment.
  • Regular interaction with production floor personnel.
  • Requires overtime to support production demands or inventory activities.
Performance Measures
  • Schedule adherence and on-time production completion.
  • Material availability and reduction of production downtime due to shortages.
