Job Description

E-Content Specialist

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a E-Content Specialist based in the United States.

As an E-Content Specialist, you will help build and maintain a comprehensive global knowledge base that supports accurate access to electronic resources and full-text content. You will work extensively with large datasets and metadata, ensuring information is complete, consistent, and accurately represented. The role combines data analysis, content management, research, and collaboration with external data providers. You will investigate data issues, identify root causes, and implement solutions that improve quality and reduce recurring problems. Working within a remote global team, you will manage multiple priorities while contributing to reliable and effective content discovery. This is an opportunity to make a direct impact on the quality and accessibility of digital research resources.

Accountabilities:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with global data providers through effective written and verbal communication, resolving data issues and obtaining metadata required for ongoing knowledge base maintenance.
  • Analyze publisher-supplied metadata to identify missing, incomplete, or inaccurate information and proactively take corrective action.
  • Create, load, and maintain collections in the global knowledge base, including descriptions, subject classifications, alternate names, and other metadata attributes that support accurate indexing and discovery.
  • Develop and maintain internal documentation covering metadata transformation, manipulation, and loading processes.
  • Research and source required metadata when information is not supplied by external providers, ensuring it is properly structured and successfully incorporated into the knowledge base.
  • Investigate internal and external data issues, conduct root-cause analysis, identify recurring trends, and implement proactive solutions to improve data quality.
  • Organize and prioritize weekly workloads, provide progress updates and raise concerns during team meetings.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and cross-functional stakeholders to achieve individual, team, and organizational objectives.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience working with large datasets, metadata, electronic resources, or similar content-focused data environments.
  • 2+ years of experience coordinating with third-party vendors and managing high-volume written and verbal communications.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, advanced functions and formulas, and experience handling datasets exceeding 50,000 rows.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate complex data issues and identify practical solutions.
  • Technologically savvy and comfortable learning new tools, systems, and data workflows.
  • Strong attention to detail and a consistent focus on data accuracy, formatting, classification, and quality standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities, meet deadlines, and provide clear status updates in a remote work environment.
  • Fast learner who adapts effectively to changing priorities and evolving processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, OneNote, Word, and SharePoint.
  • Experience with metadata standards such as KBART, MARC, Dublin Core, or ONIX is an advantage.

Benefits:

  • Annual salary range of $50,790–$72,555, with the final offer based on skills, qualifications, education, training, experience, and work location.
  • Fully remote work for U.S.-based employees outside U.S. territories.
  • Employees living within 30 miles of designated hub offices may be required to work onsite one day per week for team collaboration and synchronization.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Life and disability insurance.
  • Flexible spending accounts.
  • Retirement savings plan.
  • Paid parental leave.
  • Paid holidays and paid time off.
  • Mentoring and professional development opportunities.
  • Access to training, tools, resources, and team support.
  • Collaborative environment with a strong focus on remote flexibility and work-life balance.
