Basic Functions and Scope of Responsibility
The Wellness Instructor is responsible for leading safe, engaging, and effective group fitness classes that cater to a variety of fitness levels and abilities. The instructor creates a motivating and inclusive environment while promoting a healthy lifestyle and encouraging participant retention and satisfaction.
Role Responsibilities
- Plan and lead group fitness classes (e.g., HIIT, yoga, cycling, strength training, Zumba)in accordance with scheduled formats.
- Provide modifications and progressions to accommodate different skill levels.
- Deliver clear instructions and demonstrations to ensure proper form and technique.
- Monitor participants during classes and respond to safety concerns or injuries.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the group fitness area and equipment.
- Foster a positive, welcoming environment for all members and guests.
- Support association-wide initiatives and assume other duties as assigned.

Work Environment and Physical Demands
- Visual, auditory, and verbal ability to communicate effectively.
- Must have a high level of alertness, concentration, and initiative.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time; occasionally stoop/bend.
- Always maintain a neat and professional appearance.
