This role plays a key part in supporting specialty pharmacy operations by assisting pharmacists in the preparation, dispensing, and coordination of specialty medications for patients with complex and chronic conditions. You will contribute to ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant medication processing while supporting both patients and healthcare providers through effective communication and service. The position involves handling moderately complex operational and administrative tasks in a structured yet fast-paced environment. You will interact with physicians to clarify prescriptions, enter orders into pharmacy systems, and ensure adherence to specialty pharmacy protocols. Strong attention to detail and accuracy are essential as the role directly impacts patient outcomes and medication safety. You will work within defined procedures while having some autonomy to prioritize tasks and manage daily workflows. - Support pharmacists in the preparation, dispensing, and coordination of specialty pharmacy medications.
- Enter prescription orders accurately into pharmacy systems and ensure data integrity across workflows.
- Contact physicians and healthcare providers to clarify prescriptions and resolve order-related issues.
- Assist in maintaining adherence to specialty pharmacy programs, protocols, and operational standards.
- Provide customer support to patients and providers through phone and digital communication channels.
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and meeting operational timelines.
- Contribute to improving patient outcomes through effective coordination and communication.
- Active Pharmacy Technician license in Arizona, Florida, or Ohio (based on residence requirement).
- Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Healthcareer Association (NHA) certification required.
- Prior experience as a pharmacy technician or in a healthcare/call center environment.
- Strong data entry skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple systems and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for patient and provider interactions.
- Ability to follow structured processes while exercising sound judgment when needed.
- Annual salary range: $40,000 – $52,300 (based on experience and location)
