Job Description
Position Summary:
Assists the Director with the responsibility and accountability for the management of nursing in the Radiology Department. Demonstrates the ability to provide consistent direction for all nursing personnel in planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating patient activities. Acts as a resource person and functions as a team member. Assists interventional radiologists in performance of duties as assigned. Provide nursing care to radiology patients.
Qualifications:
A. Education:Currently licensed in the State of Texas as a Registered Nurse. BSN preferred.
B. Training and Experience:
1. Current BLS certifications required
2. Successful completion of hospital and nursing orientation within 3 months of hire required.
3. Complete the Customer Service course within 3 months of hire required.
4. One year of RN experience in critical care setting preferred.
5. ACLS and/or PALS within 3 months of hire or transfer to department.
6. Moderate sedation competency completed within 3 months of hire or transfer to department.
7. Complete the following competencies within 3 months of hire or transfer to department
a. Special Procedure RN Competency
b. Nuclear Medicine RN Competency
c. MRI RN Competency
Unusual Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
A. Occasionally required to lift and position patients for procedures.
B. Job has the potential for exposure to infectious diseases and radiation.
