Position Summary

Soode Kansas Corporation is seeking a hands-on 2nd Shift Production Supervisor to lead our Imaging Inspection, Washing and other operations in De Soto, Kansas.

This role is ideal for a servant leader who leads by example, works alongside the team when needed, and creates a safe, positive, and productive work environment. The Supervisor will be responsible for developing employees, improving operational efficiency, and achieving performance expectations related to Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Manpower.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily operations within the Imaging Inspection and Washing areas.
  • Assign work, monitor workflow, and adjust priorities to meet production schedules and targets.
  • Work alongside employees when needed to support production and understand operational challenges.
  • Monitor KPIs including Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Manpower.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency, workflow, and productivity.
  • Lead, coach, train, and develop employees while promoting teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, manage attendance, and administer corrective action when necessary.
  • Participate in interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training employees.
  • Address employee concerns and workplace conflicts professionally and consistently.
  • Coordinate with Production Planning, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, HR, and other departments to resolve operational concerns.
  • Prepare accurate end-of-shift, production, headcount, and root cause analysis reports.
  • Promote Lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement practices.
  • Other responsibilities assigned by the company.

Safety Responsibilities

  • Champion a Safety-First culture at all times.
  • Ensure employees follow all safety procedures, machine guarding requirements, and PPE standards.
  • Identify and address unsafe conditions or behaviors immediately.
  • Investigate safety incidents, determine root causes, and support permanent corrective actions.
  • Maintain compliance with company safety policies and applicable requirements.
Requirements:

Required:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Previous leadership, team lead, or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working in high-volume or automated manufacturing.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, organizational, and people-management skills.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English at a working level.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Preferred:

  • Technical school or Associate degree.
  • 2–5 years of supervisory experience in a high-speed, automated manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing and 5S.
  • Battery component, electrical component, or precision metal manufacturing experience.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This position works primarily within the Imaging Inspection and Washing production areas and requires frequent standing, walking, lifting, and assisting with production activities.

The Washing area includes equipment used to clean small precision metal components and may involve exposure to approved petrochemical-based liquids or manufacturing chemicals.

Employees must be able to:

  • Wear required PPE.
  • Work around automated equipment and moving machinery.
  • Work in noise levels typically around 70 dB and occasionally higher.
  • Safely work around approved manufacturing chemicals.
  • Perform repetitive activities and lift or move production materials as required.
  • Remain actively engaged on the production floor throughout the shift.
