Data Analyst

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Data Analyst based in Canada.

This role supports better business decision-making by transforming data into clear, practical insights.
You will collect, organize, and analyze information from internal systems, spreadsheets, and business reports.
The position focuses on identifying trends, patterns, and performance indicators without requiring deep programming expertise.
You will create accessible dashboards, visualizations, and reports that help stakeholders understand business performance.
Working closely with different teams, you will clarify reporting needs and ensure the underlying data is accurate and consistent.
The role also provides opportunities to contribute to ad hoc analysis, recurring reporting, and improvements to data processes.
It is well suited to a detail-oriented analyst who enjoys working with data and communicating insights in a business context.

Accountabilities
  • Gather, organize, and validate data from internal systems, spreadsheets, reports, and other business sources.
  • Analyze datasets to identify trends, patterns, performance indicators, and insights relevant to business objectives.
  • Prepare clear visualizations, charts, dashboards, and summary reports for business stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand reporting requirements and translate business needs into useful data outputs.
  • Support recurring reporting processes and respond to ad hoc data and analysis requests.
  • Review data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency before reports and insights are shared with stakeholders.
  • Maintain documentation related to reporting processes, datasets, definitions, and methodologies.
  • Help establish and maintain consistency across reporting workflows and business metrics.
  • Apply basic data governance and privacy principles when handling and reporting business information.
Requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, data organization, and basic analysis.
  • Familiarity with data visualization and business intelligence tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Google Data Studio.
  • Strong ability to interpret data and translate findings into meaningful business insights.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with a methodical approach to identifying inconsistencies or potential data quality issues.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain data findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams and understanding different reporting needs.
  • Basic understanding of data governance, data quality, and privacy principles.
  • Ability to manage recurring reporting responsibilities while responding efficiently to ad hoc requests.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
