Your Mission

TFS is seeking a Sr Cyber Security Architect to research, evaluate, and implement next-generation cyber capabilities across the DPAE CVN portfolio. This role will leverage advanced data science, specialized engineering, cyber analytics, and defensive operations to improve the security posture of maritime critical infrastructure, reduce technical stovepipes, and support rapid fielding of mission-critical cyber capabilities.


What You’ll Do

In this role, you will perform technical analysis of emerging cyber mandates, evaluate novel cybersecurity technologies, support collaborative research and development efforts, develop cyber risk metrics and dashboards, and provide advanced cyber analytics to support DPAE CVN leadership. You will also contribute to cyber incident response planning and support, coordinate across Navy and maritime stakeholders, and translate complex technical risks into clear recommendations for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Success in this position means strengthening the cybersecurity posture of the DPAE CVN portfolio through forward-looking technical analysis, disciplined cyber engineering, and effective stakeholder collaboration. The successful candidate will anticipate emerging threats, advance data-driven cyber risk visibility, support rapid integration of defensive cyber capabilities, and promote a cybersafe systems engineering culture across the maritime engineering ecosystem.

Requirements: Required Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, Systems Engineering, or a related field.

· 7-10+ years of related or applicable professional experience with machinery control systems, network security, and cybersecurity design, testing, and commissioning.

· Experience performing technical analysis and research on emerging cybersecurity mandates, including Zero Trust for operational technology, control systems, and combat systems.

· Ability to evaluate emerging cybersecurity technologies, threats, and vulnerabilities affecting Navy control systems, networks, and Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical assets.

· Experience defining and managing KPIs, KRIs, dashboards, analytical reports, or other cyber risk visibility tools for leadership decision-making.

· Demonstrated strong technical writing, documentation, briefing, and oral communication skills.

· Active DOD Security Clearance.

· High proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and OneNote.

· Ability to interface efficiently with team members, technical leads, Navy stakeholders, and senior leadership.


Desired Qualifications

· Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CCIE.

· Direct experience supporting Navy, Coast Guard, or Merchant Marine platforms, with highly preferred specialization in Aircraft Carriers, including CVN 68 and CVN 78 classes.

· Experience working with or at a shipyard, Naval Warfare Center, Supervisor of Shipbuilding Command, Regional Maintenance Center, or Type Commander supporting construction, operation, maintenance, modernization, or repair.

· Experience collaborating with Technical Warrant Holders and naval systems engineering directorates.

· Experience supporting cyber incident response planning, containment, mitigation, eradication, and reporting in accordance with Navy cyber procedures.

· Experience collaborating with academia, federally funded research and development centers, Naval Warfare Centers, shipbuilders, cybersecurity enclave managers, and other maritime engineering stakeholders.
