Job Description

Accounting Coordinator

Roboson Holdings Ltd., part of rennie, is hiring an Accounting Coordinator to take ownership of day-to-day accounting across a broad range of finance activities - from reconciliations and transaction processing to month-end close, reporting and resolving accounting issues.

This role is for someone who already has a solid accounting foundation and is ready for broader ownership. You’ll work across payables, receivables, cash, expenses, general ledger activities and reporting, with responsibility for seeing assigned work through from start to finish.

You’ll be a strong fit if you have experience across multiple accounting processes, are comfortable investigating discrepancies independently, and notice when something doesn’t look right. You’re organized and dependable, but also interested in improving how the work gets done through better processes, systems and tools.

APPLY HERE: rennie.com/careers

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Own assigned accounting processes from start to finish, ensuring transactions and records are accurate, complete and delivered on time

  • Maintain and reconcile financial records and account balances, investigating discrepancies and resolving routine issues independently

  • Contribute to month-end and year-end close, including reconciliations, journal entries, schedules and other required information

  • Manage assigned accounts payable, receivable, cash and expense activities, following outstanding items through to resolution

  • Prepare recurring financial information and reports, validating accuracy and identifying unusual or incomplete information

  • Respond to Finance questions and requests, researching information and following matters through to completion

  • Maintain clear, reliable financial records and documentation, including the audit trail required for established controls

  • Contribute to year-end reporting, audits and Finance projects, taking ownership of defined work and agreed deliverables

  • Look for practical ways to improve how Finance work gets done, including better use of systems, automation and AI-enabled tools

WHAT YOU BRING

  • 3+ years of relevant accounting experience, including reconciliations, transaction processing and month-end activities

  • Experience working across multiple accounting processes, with responsibility beyond a single area such as payables or receivables

  • Practical knowledge of accounting fundamentals, including general ledger, payables, receivables and reconciliations

  • Experience using accounting systems and spreadsheets in a business environment

  • Relevant post-secondary education in accounting, finance or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

HOW YOU WORK

  • Accurate and analytical - you notice discrepancies, investigate what’s behind them and follow issues through to resolution

  • Organized and dependable - you manage recurring responsibilities, deadlines and changing priorities without losing track of the details

  • Resourceful - you know how to find the information or people you need to move work forward

  • Sound in your judgment - you recognize when something doesn’t look right, ask good questions and know when to escalate

  • Clear and collaborative - you communicate professionally and work effectively with people across the business

  • Systems-minded - you’re confident working with accounting systems and spreadsheets, learn new tools quickly, and look for opportunities to improve work through automation and responsible use of AI

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • This is a primarily office-based role, with some flexibility to work remotely up to one day per week per our current practice. Our home office is located just outside of Granville Island in Vancouver.

  • Occasional local travel as required
