Job Description
We are seeking a dependable, organized, and proactive Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Operations Coordinator to join our growing team in Houston. This position serves as the operational hub between project managers, field technicians, laboratory personnel, contractors, and clients to ensure projects are executed efficiently and professionally.
The Operations Coordinator is responsible for daily dispatching and scheduling of technicians, project tracking, equipment and fleet management, inventory control, and ensuring field personnel have the tools, certifications, and support necessary to successfully complete their assignments.
This role is ideal for an experienced CMT technician, field supervisor, laboratory manager, construction inspector, or operations professional seeking advancement into project coordination and management within the geotechnical and construction materials testing industry.
Preferred- Experience in Construction Materials Testing (CMT).
- Experience in geotechnical engineering, construction inspection, field testing, or construction operations.
- ACI, NICET, TXDOT, or related certifications.
- Dispatching or operations coordination experience.
- Familiarity with concrete, soil, and asphalt testing operations.
- Dispatch & Scheduling
- Coordinate daily scheduling of field technicians.
- Assign personnel to projects based on project requirements, certifications, location, and availability.
- Monitor project schedules and communicate changes to field personnel.
- Coordinate technician coverage for emergency requests and schedule adjustments.
- Maintain communication between project managers, clients, and field staff.
- Project Coordination
- Track active projects and ensure project requirements are being fulfilled.
- Monitor technician assignments and project status throughout the day.
- Assist project managers in ensuring clients receive timely and professional service.
- Escalate project issues and coordinate solutions when scheduling or operational conflicts arise.
- Verify field tickets and documentation are complete and submitted promptly.
- Equipment & Asset Management
- Maintain accountability for all field testing equipment.
- Track equipment assignments and inventory.
- Ensure equipment is calibrated, maintained, and ready for deployment.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replacement of damaged or missing equipment.

- Nuclear Density Gauges
- Concrete Testing Equipment
- Slump Cones
- Air Meters
- Concrete Cylinders and Molds
- Soil Testing Equipment
- Mud Balance and Mud Testing Equipment
- Sieves and Gradation Equipment
- Field Scales
- Sampling Tools and Accessories
- Fleet & Operational Readiness
- Monitor vehicle condition and maintenance schedules.
- Coordinate vehicle servicing and repairs.
- Ensure technicians have required supplies, PPE, and testing equipment before deployment.
- Verify trucks, trailers, and equipment are prepared for daily operations.
- Quality & Performance Monitoring
- Review technician performance and operational efficiency.
- Monitor dash camera footage and fleet tracking systems as needed.
- Assist management in identifying opportunities for operational improvement.
- Help maintain company standards for professionalism, safety, and client service.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Valid Texas Driver's License.

- High School Diploma or GED.
