Metal Fabricator in Chattanooga, Tennessee at Blood Assurance

Blood Assurance is seeking a dedicated Metal Fabricator, where your craftsmanship and attention to detail will help shape high-quality metal work in our Mobile Shop. In this role, you will read and interpret engineering blueprints, fabricate metal parts, operate fabricating machines, and maintain a safe and clean work environment. You will collaborate closely with a talented team in a dynamic environment, contributing to projects that prioritize excellence and innovation.

Metal Fabricator Job Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret blueprint specifications.
• Layout, measure and mark a wide range a metals according to blueprint specifications.
• Set up and operate fabrication machines to cut, punch, drill, shape, and bend metal.
• Assemble and tack-weld parts to form complete units or subunits according to blueprints and other specifications.
• Ensure all equipment meets safety and regulatory standards.
• Inspect completed workpieces for conformances to specifications.
• Repair, sharpen and clean tools and equipment.
• The ability to weld using MIG, TIG, and Stick welders.
• The ability to fabricate parts.
• Attention to detail and exceptional organization skills are required.

Metal Fabricator Job Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED. Coupled with a technical diploma or training in welding or industrial technology preferred.
• Completion of 1- 2-year relevant apprenticeship or certification
• Exceptional hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for handling, shaping, and assembling metal parts accurately.
• Problem solving skills to identify and rectify potential issues in the fabrication process and in the final product.
• Physical stamina and strength to stand, lift heavy items, and perform repetitive actions for extended periods.
• Attention to detail to ensure precision and accuracy in all aspects of fabrication process and final product quality.
• Interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively within a team and to understand and execute instructions accurately.
• Safety awareness and commitment to adhere to safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace.
